About Lianne

Strong writing deserves careful editing.

You’ve invested months—maybe years—into your manuscript. Whether it’s a dissertation, a research-based book, or a romance novel built on emotional tension and character voice, your work deserves thoughtful refinement.

My role is to strengthen clarity, consistency, and precision while preserving the voice that makes your writing yours.

I am a professional copy editor specializing in academic, nonfiction, and romance manuscripts. My background includes editing for national organizations, published authors, and researchers across disciplines. I am experienced in APA, Chicago (CMOS), and discipline-specific standards, and I approach citation integrity and formatting consistency with care and attention.

Though the subject matter may vary, the principles remain the same:

Clarity.
Consistency.
Respect for the author’s intent.

My Approach

Editing should be rigorous but not intrusive.

I do not rewrite your work in my voice. I refine it in yours.

Every project is approached methodically. I create a style sheet, track patterns, monitor consistency, and flag unclear or contradictory passages. You retain full control over every suggested change.

My goal is simple: to remove technical distractions so your work can stand on its own strength.

Industry Experience

Prior to focusing exclusively on editorial work, I spent over five years working for Harlequin in romance-focused product management and digital publishing roles, including work on LGBTQ+, contemporary, and paranormal romance titles. I remain committed to supporting inclusive storytelling across identities and orientations.

My work included backlist strategy, digital reissue programs, metadata optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with editorial, art, marketing, and sales teams.

While this was not an editorial role, it provided practical familiarity with how romance titles move through production and reach readers. That broader publishing context informs my awareness of genre conventions, continuity, and reader expectations—elements that matter at the sentence level.

Combined with extensive reading across romance subgenres, it informs my work with authors today.

Let's work together.

If your manuscript is complete and ready for professional refinement, I welcome your inquiry.
